Smothered with rich and smooth Peppered Gravy, chicken and waffles are even tastier!

1½ lb | chicken tenders |
½ cup | buttermilk |
1 cup | all-purpose flour |
4 tsp | paprika |
1 tsp | each salt and pepper |
Vegetable oil, for frying | |
1 | Southeastern Mills® Peppered Gravy Mix |
12 | frozen waffles |
4 | green onions, thinly sliced |
Toss chicken tenders with buttermilk. In shallow dish, stir together flour, paprika, salt and pepper. Dredge chicken in flour mixture until well coated. Transfer to parchment paper–lined tray. Let stand for 5 minutes.
Pour enough oil into large saucepan to come 2 inches up side. Heat over medium-heat to 350°F. Working in batches, fry chicken for about 5 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to paper towel–lined plate.
Meanwhile, prepare Peppered Gravy Mix according to package directions. Reheat waffles according to package directions.
Divide waffles among 6 plates. Top with chicken and gravy. Sprinkle with green onions.
Alternatively, serve fried chicken and gravy on biscuits.
